Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026. This policy covers the Suprabhatam Android app (app.suhi.suprabhatam) and the website suprabhatam.suhi.app, both run by Suhi.app ("we").
The short version
- There is no login and no account.
- Your name, photo and the line under your name (for example "Chief Engineer · Mysuru") stay on your phone. They are never sent to us.
- The app sends us only anonymous counts, such as "a design was shared 3 times today in Kannada".
- Sponsored content is always marked "Sponsored" or "Advertisement".
- We do not sell data, and we do not use any advertising network today.
What stays on your phone
The name, photo and title line you type or pick are saved inside the app on your phone. Greeting images are made on your phone. When you share a greeting, the finished image goes directly from your phone to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp); that app's own privacy policy then applies. When you pick a photo, the app gets only the photo you choose, through Android's photo picker. If you choose to take a selfie, the camera is used only at that moment, and the picture stays on your phone.
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes all of this.
What the app sends us
To download new designs, the app fetches files from suprabhatam.suhi.app. About once per use it also sends a small usage report containing:
- a random number created when the app was installed (it is not your phone number, not your Google account, and not Android's advertising ID);
- the app version and the language you chose;
- how many times designs were opened, shared or saved, and how many times sponsored items were shown or tapped;
- on first launch, the short code of the share link you came from, if any (for example "meena" from suprabhatam.suhi.app/s/meena).
Our server keeps only daily totals of these counts, per language and per design. The random install number is not stored. To count how many phones used the app on a day, we store a one-way scrambled value (a hash) made from that number and the date. A different date gives a different value, so days cannot be linked together, and these values are deleted after 35 days.
Share links contain the short code the app makes from your name, so anyone you send the link to can see it, just like the greeting itself.
Hosting
The website and the app's downloads are served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver files and to block abuse. We use Cloudflare's short-term technical logs for fixing problems; they are deleted automatically within 7 days. We do not use them to identify people.
Sponsored content
Some designs, banners or festival packs may be sponsored by businesses. They are always labelled. If you tap one, the app or your browser opens the advertiser's website, WhatsApp chat or Play Store page; we count the tap (without saying who tapped) and the advertiser's own privacy policy applies from there. We give advertisers only total numbers, such as how many times their item was shown and tapped. We never give them your name, photo or phone number — we do not have them.
Advertising in the future
The app does not contain any advertising network today. We may add Google AdMob later. If we do, we will update this policy before that version is released, list what AdMob collects, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Children
Suprabhatam is a general-audience app made for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we do not hold your name, photo, phone number or any account, there is no personal profile for us to show, correct or delete. You remain in control of everything on your phone. If you have a question or a complaint, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, write to us and we will reply within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be shown in the app.
